The problem
In many hospitals, patient falls persist because fall prevention protocols aren’t implemented effectively. Staff understand how serious the issue is, but limited training and resources get in the way, so patient safety suffers, costs rise and outcomes worsen.
New nurses are key to preventing falls, yet they face real challenges doing the job well.
The solution
Early in the process, I saw that new nurses needed a quick reference for following the post-fall protocol after completing the scenario-based course.
I designed a clear, user-friendly job aid in Canva, meant to be posted in a highly visible spot so nurses can check it right when they need it.
